Jess Thirlby has named her England Vitality Roses squad for their forthcoming tour to New Zealand, with five Saracens Mavericks players in the line up.

The head coach has selected a 16-strong group for the three-Test tour, which will be shown live on Sky Sports, and they will be leaving for New Zealand on October 8.

After two weeks of quarantine, the first Test will take place on October 28, before the second and third Tests follow quickly after on October 30 and November 1.

Saracens Mavericks VNSL players named in the 16-strong squad are:

Gabby Marshall #84

Jodie Gibson

Kadeen Corbin #61

Razia Quashie #80

And also George Fisher #69 who has recently been announced on the ANZ Premiership club Southern Steel rosta for 2021 season.

Our Director of Netball, Kat Ratnapala said about this selection: "It has been a turbulent time for our Mavs Family this season and I am so pleased that we will finally be able to see some English Roses back on court competing Internationally"

"Its fantastic to have so many Saracens Mavericks players represented in this Roses selection, they have all been training so hard over lockdown and I have no doubt that they will all grab the opportunity with both hands"

Kat will join Jess Thirlby and her coaching team on the tour to New Zealand so we would like to congratulate Kat too on her appointment.

Thirlby said: "This is a great opportunity to blood some new talent in the lead up to a home Commonwealth Games and for them to play alongside a number of Roses who have plenty of experience facing the Silver Ferns,"

"It'll be an unmissable series and we're looking forward to getting there now. In the meantime, we will be busy behind the scenes ensuring every safety protocol is in place to keep all involved protected."

Huge congratulations guys, we are all so very proud of you can cannot wait to see you represent in New Zealand.
